Newgate Market is not to be missed if you are visiting York or living in the area. It lies between the Shambles and Parliament Street and mustn't be confused with the Farmers and Continental markets which occur on Parliament Street every few weeks.
It is open seven days a week. The Sunday market is more of a craft market without the fruit and veg stalls.
This market contains over 100 stalls from the traditional fruit and veg to jewellery and crafts. Many things can be found here that are not in the shops and are being sold at very good prices.
Serendipidy Aromatics stands on Mondays, Saturdays and Sundays.
